Born and raised in London to West Indian parents, Nigel is a rare find. Talented in a number of areas including presenting, dance, music and sport, Nigel has crammed a great deal into his 28 years. After leaving Nickelodeon where he was one of their most popular presenters for 2 years, he could be seen co-presenting the both series of the show No Girls Allowed, live every Saturday morning on Five which won the RTS award for Best Children’s Programme. It was a show featuring fast cars, bikes and boys toys!
He could be seen on Dance Factory for BBC1 where he had the role of co-presenter, choreographer and dancer and was a guest on the CITV show Skillz. He has also guest presented Smile on CBBC a number of times and has recently presented Clutter Nutters for CBBC and Sportsround every Saturday morning. He can be seen on Toonattik for GMTV and hosted the UK School Games for Channel 4.
He completed 4 series of Ukool for CBBC and presented live on CBBC Digital on the weekends and during the holidays. He also reported live results to Ant and Dec on Record of the Year (ITV).
Nigel has a wealth of experience and has shown himself to be a natural presenter- interviewing stars, vox popping with members of the public, presenting live in the studio and on location and interacting with his co-presenters.
After completing his A-levels, Nigel went on to study Biology at university in order to pursue his career of becoming a paramedic. It was during his first summer holiday that he started to take dance classes at the North London Studio. After a short time, Nigel was offered a scholarship to attend the school full time and decided that he would not return to his scientific studies!
Over the following year, Nigel began auditioning for stage shows and television programmes. He was offered a chance to perform in STOMP, (the percussion dance troupe with whom he performed in the West End and travelled extensively) and Ukool presenting work followed soon after.
As well as presenting, Nigel has been all over the world which he found hugely educational as well as entertaining and discovered his love of travel and learning about different cultures. It is clear that Nigel has a natural affinity with music and dance and is keen to pursue these interests alongside presenting in the future. He also writes and produces his own music and sings in his band Digress (www.digressmusic.com)
Nigel’s other passion is sport. He is very active and takes to most sports with ease. Nigel has a chilled, entertaining and naturally cool manner in front of the camera. He is ideally suited to the youth market where young people will find him to be an inspirational role model.
