The Great Garden Challenge is a brand new
daytime series for Channel 4 which will showcase the very
best garden designers in Britain. The show will be presented
by Janet Ellis who will be joined by a team of three experienced
gardeners headed up by well-known TV gardener Chris Beardshaw.
It will be broadcast live from the grounds of one of Britain's
best known and loved stately homes, Blenheim Palace.
Throughout the series teams of talented amateur and professional
garden designers will go head to head every day as they each
complete a 25 metre square show garden. They have just three
days from start to finish. The show’s prestigious teams
of gardeners will judge each day’s winner, deciding
who will proceed in the competition and go through to the
quarter and semi-finals and ultimately the Grand Final where
the public will have the final vote and appoint one team the
winner of The Great Garden Challenge. Over
the 15 weeks that the show is on air over 100 small gardens
will be built in the walled garden at Blenheim and the visiting
public will be able to come and watch this remarkable project
unfold.
